Hello,

   

I am Claudine Bastien and I am the current President of the Omicron Sigma chapter of Delta Zeta at Gallaudet University. Gallaudet is the first Deaf university where everyone comes from different countries and backgrounds, and also where there are different sign languages used which are beautiful to see. Gallaudet University is very unique and it's a great example for all Deaf people as a symbol of unity. 

 

Our chapter has so much potential and each individual member has a variety of skills they bring to Delta Zeta. I'm so excited and honored to be able to serve as Omicron Sigma's President where I have the opportunity to lead amazing women and do my best to empower each and every one of my sisters as they make the most out of their years at Gallaudet University. My fellow sisters truly make an impact on our campus, community, and world. I joined Delta Zeta because I wanted to develop my leadership skills and to be involved in a sisterhood who support each other. Sisterhood is something I see as a way to unity and family. The values of my sorority that I cherish every day are love, respect, and support. We all share the same goals in our chapter, and we are all strong women who help each other be the best we can be. A quote I find inspirational is, "We Are Able".
